Santa’s Coming to West Central Indiana! 🎅✈️
There’s nothing quite like it: the gasp, the giggle, the wide-eyed wonder when a child spots Santa’s twinkling eyes, rosy cheeks, and that famous big round belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly when he laughs. In that moment, the magic of Christmas is as real as the snow on the ground.
Now, you might be wondering how Santa gets here. After all, his reindeer only fly on Christmas Eve (well, unless Rudolph is leading a practice run, and believe us, that nose needs a lot of practice!). So for his early visits, Santa hops aboard his very own plane, SANTA 1, and touches down at Crawfordsville International Airport.
International? You bet! When Santa lands after flying all the way from the North Pole, it’s officially an international arrival. ❄️
Santa loves coming to West Central Indiana. While his elves are busy hammering, painting, and wrapping up the last of the toys back at the workshop, he gets to do his favorite thing in the whole world: visiting the boys and girls right here at home.
And if you’re extra lucky, he won’t be traveling alone. Mrs. Claus often comes along for the trip, and she never forgets the most important cargo of all…

Santa's Story
Since 2016, Santa Gary has brought the magic of Christmas to more than 2,000 children across Indiana. Whether he’s visiting a hospital bedside or taking the stage with a full choir, he brings warmth, patience, and a true belief in the spirit of the season.
Why Indiana?
When Santa doesn’t need to be at the North Pole, he and Mrs. Claus love spending time in West Central Indiana. Besides, the elves can handle most of the workshop on their own! The Clauses spend their summers in Crawfordsville and visit throughout the year.
Children often ask whether Santa flew down with the reindeer. Of course not: the reindeer only fly on Christmas Eve! The rest of the year, Santa has his own plane and pilot, who fly him into Crawfordsville many times each year.
So the next time you’re strolling the streets of Crawfordsville or anywhere in Montgomery County, look closely. That friendly fellow out of uniform just might be Santa, and he’s always paying attention to who’s being nice.
